Selection: East Tennessee State (-7)

East Tennessee State wants to ensure its entry into the NCAA Tournament when it plays for a Southern Conference title on Monday night. The top-seeded Buccaneers (29-4) will battle seventh-seeded Wofford (19-15) at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville. The Buccaneers won the regular-season title with a 16-2 mark and have won 11 consecutive games and 16 of 17, while the Terriers finished 8-10 in the league but have won three in a row.

ETSU advanced to the league's championship game with a 97-75 win over Western Carolina on Sunday behind 20 points from Daivien Williamson and 18 from Tray Boyd III. Bo Hodges and Isaiah Tisdale each scored 13 and Lucas N'Guessan put in 12 for the Buccaneers, who connected on 34-of-58 field-goal attempts.

Meanwhile, Storm Murphy scored 15 points—including the winner with 3.1 seconds left—and Tray Hollowell connected on four 3-pointers as Wofford earned a 72-70 win over Chattanooga in the other SoCon semifinal on Sunday. The Terriers received 11 points from Messiah Jones, and Chevez Goodwin added 10 points and three blocked shots.

The Buccaneers have recorded a winning mark in seven consecutive seasons and have won 20 or more games in each of the last five years. ETSU is looking to earn its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017 under Steve Forbes, who is 128-43 in five seasons. The Bucs are led by Boyd III, a senior guard who has reached double digits in scoring in 11 consecutive games.

The Terriers are no strangers to March Madness after earning last year's Southern Conference bid and making five NCAA appearances since 2010. It's the program's third straight winning season and fifth in seven years. Wofford is led by senior guard Nathan Hoover, who is averaging 15.3 points per game and has scored in double figures in 17 of his past 20 contests.

Wofford has shown that it is capable of an upset after defeating Furman in Saturday's quarterfinals, but taking down East Tennessee State will be a very tough task. Covering 7 points in a league title game will be tough, especially against a program that is used to making the NCAA Tournament. But this is an ETSU team that would deserve an at-large bid if it stumbled. The Buccaneers are legit, so -7 is a safe play.
